Fibroadenoma

Talk to me.

Fibroadenomas are defined as breast lumps that are not cysts nor are they cancerous.

They are noncancerous (benign) solid lumps that can develop in women from when they start their period until they are half way through their childbearing years.

Fibroadenomas are firm and smooth and will have a well-defined shape. They can also be moved around underneath the skin.

I think I have one. Now what?

See your doctor for a physical exam if you're worried that you have something more than a fibroadenoma.

If you have been diagnosed with a fibroadenoma, there is no need for treatment, but it is always good to monitor your breasts and do monthly self breast exams to check for any changes in your breasts or in existing lumps.
